These days...

I am tired these days!! haha Maya sure keeps us hopping. I am very fortunate that her nighttime sleep is still fantastic (she sleeps 7 to 7) so I can recover from the VERY active days we've had lately. The last 3 weeks have went by in a blur. It seems like overnight she has gone from crawling to almost walking!!! She crawls up and onto anything she can find and walks along couches, coffee tables, people etc. and yesterday she balanced standing up on her own for a few seconds. Oh my!! Here Maya is looking at all the things on the coffee table that she should not be touching. But ohhhh how she longs to touch them.

She is very adventurous and likes to explore everywhere. Yesterday she found the stairs (yikes) and played on them for quite a while. She can't get up the stairs yet but likes to stand on them and play. It's fun to watch her try new things.

Lately her expressions have been priceless. She is also noticing our facial expressions. When she is touching something she shouldn't, sometimes I don't even have to say "no"; apparantly my face says enough and she'll back off....sometimes. Other times she thinks our facial expressions are hilarious like when she is balancing precariously on something I will raise my eyebrows and say very emphatically, "Be careful, Maya" and she bursts out laughing. Or when I make a funny face at her, she responds with fits of giggles. I just love it. But her facial expressions, we think, take the cake. Here are a few that we think are just priceless.

She looks very stable and confident. It won't be long and she will be stepping away from the table and taking her first steps!

I LOVE the pics of all her expressions. That is so cute. She is becoming the little adventurer!

Ethan started to climb around the time he started to furniture surf - so watch out!

Are you going to put a gate at the bottom of the stairs?

Bev - I don't want to put up the baby gate if I don't have to but now that I've let her play there, I can't really tell her no once she can climb them. I guess I'll just have to wait and see. It IS an adventure!!
