9 Months Old

It has been 9 beautiful months since our lives changed forever. We celebrate the 29th of every month as a little mini birthday and reminice about the day she was born. I suppose once she turns 1, the novelty of month birthdays may wear off but for now we love to celebrate!! But even after 9 months, it seems like yesterday. We just don't know where the time has gone.

We started the day like every other with cuddles and breakfast and then dressed her up for some pictures....and by pictures, I mean mommy following Maya around taking over 100 pictures of nothing in particular except her in all her cuteness!! She loves to crawl under things and will inevitably get herself stuck but just keeps going back to the same place. Crazy girl!

After her afternoon nap, I took Maya to the public health nurse to have her weighed and measured. We haven't done that since her 6 month check up with our family doctor and since her next check up will be at 1 year, I didn't want to wait until then to check in on her growth. She has definitely done some growing in the last 3 months but most of it has been vertical. She is now 18 lbs 5 oz and 75 cm long. That puts her in the 40th percentile for weight and 100th percentile for height!! She is going to be a very tall little girl.

Here, Maya has found the stairs, yet again (her favorite new spot), and is waving to mommy.

Unfortunately we also had a few bumps and bruises today. While we were exploring the house, Maya climbed up the front door and slipped and hit her head on the door. It left a little scratch and a red bump and a lot of tears. She was quite upset but a few kisses and cuddles later she was back to exploring. She also has two bruises on her knees from all her crawling around which I suppose is inevitable but doesn't make it any easier on us to see. Bruises on our baby girl seem to hurt us more than it hurts her.
