The Mountains

One of the parts I love most about being a mommy is seeing Maya experience, explore and engage with the world around her.  This year, living in Calgary, she has discovered the mountains. She recognizes them from afar and will shout from the backseat, "Mommy, look; look at the big mountains!".  They are as majestic and beautiful to her as they are to us.  We have been to the mountains a few times with her but recently, it seems, she is more enthralled with them.  So when my mom came to visit in March, we took the opportunity to head out towards and into the mountains.  Maya thoroughly enjoyed the trip repeatedly showing us the mountains and reveling in their splendor as they surrounded us and grew larger as we drew closer.  It was a blessing to see her witness the beauty and glory of God's creation all around us.  It was a fun and special trip and we made lots of new memories as a family.  Grandma decided to spoil us all with brunch at the Banff Springs hotel as an early Easter treat.  The grandeur of the hotel is always breathtaking and we had fun walking around the hotel, taking pictures and enjoyed a truly spectacular brunch.  One of the best we've ever had.  Thanks Grandma!
