Imagination

Maya's imagination is developing more and more each day.  She imagines that by sitting on the laundry basket, she is riding her tricycle and that she becomes a frog by jumping around the house shouting "rib-bit" and that she is eating a feast of cupcakes, cherry pie and pickles as she reads "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" and pretends to pluck the food out of the book and put it in her mouth.  One of the funniest things is when she takes her play mop and broom and pretends that it is a violin and bow.  She carefully places the end of the mop under her chin and uses the broom as the bow and sings violin music as she plays.  I have to capture it on video one of these days - it's priceless!!

My favorite pretend game lately is when she puts her puppy basket on her head and magically, she is wearing a helmet and roller skates and runs circles around our island in the kitchen "skating".  It's so fun to watch.  The other morning she decided that she wanted to wear her helmet while eating her breakfast.  It cracked us up to watch the floppy ears hanging down as she happily ate in her "helmet".  It reminded me of December 2008 when she also wore the same basket on her head although it fit much better then.  How fast they grow!

December 2008 - sweet little girl.

Imagination....what a great gift. I hope she continues to use her imagination and give you more days of laughter.
