Visit from Grandma

My mom came for a visit and stayed for a week. What a blessing it was to have her here. You forget how much work it is to have a little one until your mom shows up and babysits (so Jay and I could have a date night out), grocery shops, does dishes, makes meals, cleans the house and entertains Maya and then you realize that it does indeed take a village to raise a child. Why do we try to do it all ourselves?? So needless to say, I truely enjoyed having her around. Fortunately, Jason is a very engaged husband and father but work has been very busy for him and as Maya cut her first year molars over these past two weeks and actually cut an eye tooth a few days ago, she has needed some extra attention and TLC. Thank God for mothers....mine in particular! And I am so blessed that Jason gets along with her so well. He actually said, after my mom went home, that it seemed like she wasn't here for very long. Now, how many son-in-laws have said that about their mother-in-laws after a 10 day visit? I am blessed.

Mom's visit was filled with lots of preparations for Maya's birthday parties and lots of shopping. She came with gifts in hand for her favorite (and only) granddaughter but also managed to squeeze a few more by me by the time her visit was up. From clothes to toys and accessories, she always has an excuse to spoil miss Maya. They were like two peas in a pod and I know that Maya loved having her grandma here. It was sad to see her go but we are hoping to get back to Saskatchewan next month for another visit.

.....stay tuned for some soon to come posts of Maya's first birthday as well as some videos!

Ahhh, how sweet. It was a blessing to me to be there with you and to be able to share in the birthday celebration. I had so much fun and now that Maya is getting older and seems to know who I am, I felt the tug a little harder when I had to leave. Hope to see you soon, again. Love to all
